FormWise supports Claude by Anthropic as an AI engine option across the platform. You can use Claude anywhere you’d normally select an AI model — with no extra setup required.

What is Claude?

Claude is an AI model developed by Anthropic, known for:

  • Strong reasoning and structured outputs

  • Better handling of long documents and context

  • A more cautious, instruction-following style compared to some other models

Many users prefer Claude for:

  • Writing-heavy tools

  • Analysis, summaries, and explanations

  • Client-facing outputs where tone and clarity matter

Where Claude Can Be Used in FormWise

You can select Claude as the engine in both of the following:

SmartForms

Choose Claude from the Engine dropdown when configuring a SmartForm

  • Ideal for:

  • Document-based tools

  • Reports, summaries, and long-form content

  • Step-by-step guided workflows

CoPilots

Choose Claude from the Engine dropdown when creating or editing a CoPilot

  • Ideal for:

  • Advisory or coaching-style chatbots

  • Knowledge-based assistants

  • Multi-turn conversations with deeper context

No prompt changes are required — your existing instructions will work with Claude.

Supported Engines

FormWise supports all base API-call engines, including:

  • OpenAI models

  • Anthropic (Claude)

  • Other supported providers available in the Engine dropdown when adding and customizing your prompt.

You can switch engines at any time per tool to test output quality and performance.

How to Enable Claude

Claude is available at the account level. If you don’t see Claude in the Engine dropdown:

  1. Reach out to support

  2. We’ll enable it for your account so you can start testing

Things to Know

  • Engine selection is per tool, not global

  • Switching engines does not affect saved user data

  • Usage counts toward your normal credit usage

  • Claude works with document uploads and embedded context

If you’re unsure which engine is best for your use case, try running the same tool with different engines and compare results — many users do this during setup to dial in quality.
